I'll make this brief.. Saatchi art website has over 2 million works of art for sale. There are thousands of commercial galleries in the world. Theare hundreds if not thousands of art schools around the world turning out hundreds, if not thousands of freshly minted, diploma in hand artists. Goals

Do you think Picasso, Dali or Rembrandt set their goals every year?..day? Hard to imagine Mozart's quill leaping across music sheets because he felt a need to achieve a gold star in his planner. Are goals then silly for artists? This is fodder for a PHD thesis "Art as a goal". I imagine most of us think of creativity and mark making as a way of being. The art flows from our inner being.

I go insane in an art supply store. I have heaps and heaps of supplies. There is no medium and no support I have not tried - except the art suppliers are up all night inventing new goodies. And I gotta have them. Got to. This attachment to new and the latest distracts from the truth. I need very little. I've discovered that I need large brushes and very few of them. And sadly they should be hardware store brushes. Fancy tools are not me, they aren't the art I make. I do messy organic intuitive stuff. A large brush...
